The workshops at The Florence Academy of Art / Sweden present a unique opportunity to study with a variety of visiting artists teaching different techniques. These intensive workshops are perfect for students who desire to develop their artistic skills. Most of the instruction is on an individual basis and our instructors adapt the exercises to your level of experience, which means that the courses are suitable for both beginners and professional artists. In addition to the individual feedback group lessons and in class demos will be held. The skills you acquire during your course can be applied directly to your continued artistic endeavours.

Come improve your artistic skills in a truly immersive experience with other aspiring artists! During this 5-day intensive workshop, our instructors will guide students through the process of drawing and painting realistically through direct observation and practicing the principles and techniques passed down from the old masters. Students will have the opportunity to choose from a variety of subjects including portraiture, studying the nude figure, still life, and landscape painting. Students can focus on one subject for the entire week or experiment with different subjects and materials. Models, easels, paints, canvas, brushes, and anything else you might need will be provided, so you do not need to bring anything with you except perhaps a sketch book and pencils for taking notes and sketching. All levels of experience are welcome! Beginners and seasoned artists all have things to learn and we will adjust the teaching and feedback we give to each student. No minimum education required. Each morning, everyone will gather at 9:00 for coffee and snacks and to have a discussion about the day’s lessons. The instructors will give lectures and demonstrations to illustrate the concepts and techniques that the students will work on each day. On Wednesday after class, we will take everyone to the Gothenburg Museum of Art to tour the collection. Transportation to the museum and entrance fees will be covered by us. On Friday we will have a final gathering and talk about the week’s experience. Pick from the available dates to sign up. If you want to increase your length of study, sign up for multiple weeks and receive a 10% discount! You can contact us by email to discuss the course of study you are interested in, or you can decide on the first day of class. Here is what we will have available.
