Work on your drawing and painting skills during our weekend classes! You will have access to the Florence Academy studios and receive professional instruction on exercises inspired by our academic program. We will provide all of the drawing and oil painting materials, so you do not need to bring anything with you. You are welcome to bring your own materials if you wish.
All levels of experience are welcome! Beginners and seasoned artists all have things to learn and we will adjust the teaching and feedback we give to each student. No minimum education required.

Work from the model: a live model will be available for portraits and figure studies.
Self-Portrait: learn how to paint a portrait from looking in a mirror.
Flower Painting: learn how to arrange flowers, mix colors, and paint flower petals.
Still Life: learn how to arrange a composition and paint a variety materials, textures, and colors.
Plaster Cast Study: draw or paint from observing a plaster cast of a classical sculpture.
Master Copy: make a copy of another excellent artwork to learn more about the original artist’s techniques and solutions.
Bring your own reference: bring a printed photo of a loved one, a pet, or any subject you are interested in and we will help you to draw or paint it.
