Transform your drawings into prints — and discover how one discipline sharpens the other.
Course description
Combining traditional printmaking techniques with the rigorous study of observational drawing, this workshop offers a rare opportunity to develop both skills in parallel.
A unique aspect is the integration of classical drawing studies into every step of the process.
Students will complete drawing exercises from the live model, portrait, self-portrait, or master studies, which then serve as the foundation for the printmaking technique of the session.
The program introduces students to relief, intaglio, aquatint on traditional copper plate etching.
- Relief techniques emphasize mass and silhouette.
- Intaglio techniques highlight line, edge, and fine value shifts.
- Monotype techniques train the handling of large tonal masses and edges.
By working in a small group of no more than 12 participants, students receive personal guidance at every stage — from sketch to finished edition — culminating in a final exhibition and portfolio review.
