SPRING SESSION 2020
Intensive courses in portraiture, sculpting, still life and landscape painting.
The workshops at The Florence Academy of Art / Sweden are designed for students with a strong desire to develop their artistic skills. Most of the instruction is on an individual basis and our instructors adapt the exercises to your level of experience. This means that the courses are suitable for both beginners and professional artists. In addition to the individual feedback there will also be group lessons and in-class demos. The skills you acquire during your course can be applied directly to your continued artistic endeavours.
The Spring Workshop Sessions will take place over two weeks occurring March 23 – 27 and March 30 – April 3. Each course lasts 5 days but if you sign up for both weeks you will have the opportunity to study one subject more intensely or try two different courses! Anyone who signs up for two courses will receive a discount of 2000 SEK. If you have any questions please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or call us at +46 (0)31 7060860 during our office hours.
Through intense observation students develop their ability to reproduce an accurate visual impression of the model. The instructor will lead them through a step-by-step process of drawing the head, acheiving accurate proportions, modeling light and form, and mixing accurate skin colors.
Instructor: Tanvi Pathare
During this workshop students will have the chance to paint colorful fabric, still life objects, and human skin while working from a live model. We will have the same set up for both weeks so applicants who sign up for both will have additional time to work on their painting.
Instructor: Thor Larsen
Lern to sculpt a portrait with a focus on improving understanding of the structure of the human head and its anatomy, the instructor will introduce relevant ways to measure and sculpt individual traits and expression through the study of symmetry and asymmetry.
In this course the focus will be on the interplay between light and dark, atmospheric perspective, and composition. The instructor will lead the group to places in and around the historic mill town of Kvarnbyn with it’s old factories, waterfall, and nearby lakes and apple orchards.
