Learn to paint the most available model you will ever have: yourself! New Zealand artist Nicholas O’Leary will be teaching a weekend workshop on self-portrait painting and how to use yourself as your own model. Focus will be given to composition, getting the proportions of the head and features, mixing skin color, and creating a sense of light and form.
Nicholas is an award winning painter and architectural designer. He is the recipient of the Art Renewal Center’s William Bouguereau Award and has studied with modern master painter Odd Nerdrum. Nicholas currently resides in Bergen, Norway.
Please bring a canvas or panel prepared for oil painting size 30 x 40 cm. We recommend an oil prepped canvas such as Claessons portrait linen. We will provide paint, palettes, brushes, etc. but you are welcome to bring your own.
Class hours: 10:00 – 16:00
