Instructor: Michael DeVore
Come learn to paint a portrait with the best model you will ever have: yourself! Artists throughout history have famously painted self-portraits. The ability to use one’s self as a model gives the artist the opportunity to learn and experiment in ways they could not with a regular model. There are no budget or time limits so you can make spontaneous changes and spend more time working things out. This is also a perfect way to study how to paint the human face. During the course students will learn how to acheive correct proportions, create form, and mix skin colors. They will also learn how to use themselves as a model for narrative works. Join us this fall and really get to know yourself!
All painting supplies will be provided so you do not need to bring anything with you except perhaps something to take notes with.
