Come learn how to use people and paint to tell a story with Irish figurative painter Molly Judd. In this course special attention will be given to creating the illusion of skin in oil paint with a limited palette of colors. Working from a live model, Molly will demonstrate how to lay in the figure, compose the image, and begin building up texture. On the second day she will show students how to work back into the initial layers to create effects of depth and atmosphere. If you want to learn how to paint skin this is the perfect class for you!
Molly Judd is an award winning artist who has studied with The Florence Academy of Art and modern master painter Odd Nerdrum. Her work is part of the permanent collection of the European Museum of Modern Art (MEAM) in Barcelona, Spain.
Please bring a canvas or panel prepared for oil painting approximately 55 x 70 cm in size. We recommend an oil prepped canvas such as Claessons portrait linen. We will provide paint, palettes, brushes, etc. but you are welcome to bring your own.
