Students will learn to draw a portrait from a live model in a single pose for 5 or 10 sessions. This gives students the opportunity to study the intricacies of the human face and achieve a higher level of accuracy than what would be possible in a single session. We will mostly be working with charcoal and chalk for these exercises as they allow students to work easily at a larger scale with a full range of light and dark values. Students will learn about the proportions of the head and face and how to accurately draw the features. They will learn about how to use light and dark to create form and achieve the illusion of reality.
Our instructors are professional artists with years of experience working from life. Individual critiques will be given according to each student’s skill level and progress which makes the course appropriate for beginners as well as advanced students. Instruction will be given in English and Swedish as needed.
